We were in town for a quick visit and decided to have a few drinks at Dick's. We found a great afternoon work crowd in a newly remodeled bar that had a great atmosphere and service. Had the Buffalo wings and chips and guacamole both were first rate. Will definitely stop by every time we get a chance!

Came to town for a funeral we needed something to eat after the wake 930 pm, no food available

Slow, sometimes apathetic service and mediocre food. They might also be out of citrus and try to overcharge you for cocktails. The restaurant was clean and the enchiladas were satisfying but the prices and service aren't worth the trip.

Pleasant atmosphere, but stingy where it matters. The meat on the Ruben was thinner than the cole slaw, served only with a cookie. What?! No pickle? No chips? The fish and chips were HORRIBLE. 1/3 fish, 2/3 crappy weird soggy hot sauce batter. Go elsewhere.

Love the new bar and the menu has great options for everyone! Very good salsa, guacamole & wings to snack on before dinner.

Stop at Dick's whenever we are in Las Vegas NM. I had whiskey glazed salmon, and wife had their special chicken Marsala. The chicken had great flavor, and salmon was good.

We were traveling from Colorado to Texas and this seemed like a decent place to stop close to the highway. Walking in it's a small liquor store with loud drunk people in the back. I called in my order while driving and the total came to $34! That was for tacos, a salad and a kids meal. The menu online has fries included with the kids quesadilla, as it should. What kids meal for $6 doesn't include a side or drink. Well they charged me $4 for fries. In the end it was taken off. The Blue beef tacos seemed like a creative entree, but they were bland. The posada was good and so were the beans. My Southwest chicken salad was small for $11. It was so spicy! My mouth was on fire. The chicken was bland. If I was a local, I would just go for the bar.

Update: I'd like to say/think that their food quality has improved since my last review. In my prior review, I was comparing the different options in town - sure, they've all go their strengths and weaknesses, but Dick's is pretty solid. I'll go ahead and counter my previous review - since El Fidel upped their prices, I feel like the quality also dropped. Dick's, on the other hand, has increased quality and stuck with their prices. The 5th Quarter Grill has closed and been replaced with The Rock, but has a very limited menu. So, relatively speaking, I feel like Dick's is back on top for Other-Than-New-Mexican food fare. Everything else seems similar as compared to my old review. One thing though is that all the nicer bars in town have been closing really early lately, so if you want drinks from 10pm and onward, this place will be packed.

The food is delicous and they are so flavorful. The service is always friendly when I go in with family. They have a good wine and beer menu as well.

The food is amazing. The green chile Alfredo dish and the angry Italian is to die for. I love the food and I'm never disappointed with the food. The bread served is also delicious. Everytime I go into Las Vegas I always make it a point to go to dicks. I didn't give it a full 5 star because the service, sometimes, is poor. I, as a server expect full 100% effort, but the waiting staff could use work.

Wouldn't go to dicks again. I asked the bartender if the theme was actually to be a dick, but it wasn't. He just was a legitimate bad bartender. He poured my friend a "neat" whiskey which was less than a shot and when she asked if this was truly "neat" he shrugged her off and walked away. I asked about specials and he pointed to a board with specials written on it so I ordered the beer on special. We only got one drink because this guy made us feel less than welcome. When I got the bill my beer was $4 not $2.50 like it said on the "specials board" and he wouldn't fix it. There was a group of men there in their 50's with their I.d.s but the one guys I. D. didn't "look right so he wouldn't serve him. 6 people left the bar because of this bartender. He was from Hawaii and not friendly at all. Such a bad taste in the mouth. Bartenders make or break a place. This guy broke it and we took patrons elsewhere to a place that had the most awesome bartender!!!!! Goodbye Dicks!

Charming and historical place. Food was bland and service was forgetful and clumsy. Skip it

Hard to fine but worth finding. Chef quality food with average prices. Friendly service and modern atmosphere. I had the angry Italian with grilled Salmon(It had the penne pasta with a cream sauce, cherry tomatoes, spinach). I look forward to having it again when passing through Las Vegas NM to see my son at Holloman AFB.

A word of warning: this is no longer the Dick's of days gone by. There is possibly new ownership/management and the menu has been pared down to hot/cold sandwiches and not much else. Gone is the meatloaf and chicken fried steak and practically everything on the kids menu. Every year we make our pilgrimage to this once-great place and this year we were sadly disappointed; the food sucked. I mean really sucked. I asked the waiter what was up and he blurted out something about looking for a new chef and how things lately have been disorganized but that they hope to get back on track and we should check back in a few months (!?). That won't be happening. It's a sad, sad day for Las Vegas, NM...

The wait staff doesn't come around nearly often enough to check if you need anything. I've visit this bar/restaurant several times a year for the past 20 years, and I can easily say that this is the worst wait staff they've ever had. That said if you find yourself eating at the bar or in the restaurant they have pretty good deli sandwiches and some of their starts and entrees are not bad. Try the green chile cheese fries or the New Mexico bagel. They also have a nice selection of domestic and imported beers. If you sit in the bar you can order from both the deli and the restaurant, but if you sit in the restaurant you can't order form the deli. If you do sit in the bar, sit at the bar for quicker service otherwise you may not get helped.

Passing thru and stopped in for dinner. Burger was good as was the meatloaf. Nice menu variety...cold drinks...everyone gets carded so bring ypur ID!

Admittedly it has been a while since I have been here. While I have yet to enjoy their more "formal" restaurant fare, I have fond memories of thier lunch offerings. Their soups and sadwiches were always fresh and tasty. Mostly my fond memories are of getting together with friends on evenings and enjoying the bar to its fullest extent. For first timers here, you have a few options on how to enter, through the front Liquor Store doors and you will be direct back to the bar and restaurant or thru the side door off of 7th St. When I am back in town I usually call up a few friends and stop in only to see many of the same faces, standing in the same corners talking to the same people. Ahh Las Vegas...

We used Dick's catering service for a work lunch and the food was a hit. Not only was the food great but the delivery was right on time and the presentation was very professional. Foot and Ankle Associates will definatly be using this service again in the future after such a great first experience.

OMG the food at Dick's is amazing! They advertise as having the best food in town, and it's true. They also have a HUGE menu -- so many things to choose from like Mexican, American, Italian, and more. The beef tacos have been my favorite so far. The angry Italian dish is good too, but a little sweet for my taste. They also have a little convenience store attached, and it has a nice variety of specialty beers.

Last week I had lunch at Dicks, a cobb salad. It was as cobby as a cobb salad can be and service was excellent, considering the power went out up and down the street for about 20 minutes and the servers just kept on working. Food was good, menu looks interesting and I will be back.

How crazy is this place.. ?.. We got there around 10 or so.. A friend walked in the front door of this convenience store it looked like, and then led us through what looked like a back door and into a bar.. After the bouncer checked our id's we walked up to the bar. The friend I was with was none stop saying hello to people. I made the joke that she was really cool. She explained that no, just the whole town was there.. The drinks were good, the kereoke was great. And getting to see the other people who live here was amazing.. It was a fun night. This is just for the bar...

Dick's has 3 parts to it, a liquor store & Deli in front, a bar in the middle, and a restaurant in back. From the front all you see is a liquor store and it can seem pretty creepy but there is a side entrance for the restaurant. My review is only for the restaurant. The food was great, the wait staff friendly, and was toddler friendly. If fact my little one enjoyed watching the food be prepared. I recommend the restaurant if you are looking for a nicer sit down meal.

Dick's Liquor, Deli (and Restaurant) is complex. From the street, it's easy to think it's just a liquor store. The front half is a liquor store, espresso and deli. The middle is an old 80's style sports bar, ala Patrick Swayze's Roadhouse, and the back end is a full restaurant. In fact, Mr. Swayze, who owned land in LV, has a sandwich named after him. Minus one star: The side dish pasole can be a bit salty, like it's been sitting on the stove all day long.
